Nestle Buxton Water: Meet Craig Airey
2025-05-27COPY
Hi, my name is Craig Ayer and I'm the Project Civil Engineer for Nestlea Waters UK here at Market Town of Buxton in the beautiful setting of the National Park Peak District. I look after the roads, the car parks, the walls, anything that's construction related. We bottle Nestle a Pure Life and the Buxton brand. On top of my normal role, I also volunteer to take care of the nature reserve. So welcome to the Mode area. It's currently in full bloom as you can see. According to our local ecologists, it's the largest wildflower meadow in the Buxton area. This is the Bug Hotel which is my pride and joy. We built it last year on a volunteering day. It's essentially made out of all waste product that we had around the factory. We think we have about three and a half hectares of wildflower meadow that was sown and all of it seems to be doing okay. As a further development on the nature reserve we're finally introducing some beehives which have been donated to us by Beresard's contract in one of our local contractors. This becomes a public footpath which is why we've put the the information sign there. We originally set out to attract some of the species that we find on the information board. I enjoy being given the opportunity to do it by my bosses. They could quite easily say, stay by your desk or day long.
